Strata Magazine
For an art news magazine centered on a single topic with multiple perspectives, a masthead logotype was needed to reflect that structure. Flowing letterforms were designed to connect visually, expressing the links between ideas, while each letter kept its individual space to represent distinct points of view.

Framing was used to give the design a museum-like feel to reinforce the magazines’ theme, while also working for single pages, spreads, or photo stories.

A feature lead-in was needed for an article on an individuals frustration with AI-generated art. A distorted figure losing parts of itself reflects the sense of creative exploitation by corporations.

A half-page feature lead-in was created for an article highlighting digital art as a vital but overlooked cultural form. A gradient transition from a museum wall of digital icons to an 8-bit pixel version symbolizes the writer’s call for its recognition in the mainstream art world.
